Painted vacuous pretty dolls
Another circuit of the dance

Puppets in your pageant
And lovers under arch
We play out scenes as bon vivants

In the empty dawn

The moonlight in a real world
Could not shine this way
The way it falls upon your face
The look which haunts my sleep
I cannot think for seeing you
Knowing so clearly
We cannot again be
My tears don’t fall
I do not feel
