Traces the line of history
Across the eternal here to there
I hear the voices of a distant age
As I tread the paths of ancient days
The temples of neglected gods
Condemned to sit idle
The worshipful long gone
Nothing sacred any more
Within marble halls
Headless idols in silent rooms
Relics of a once living past
None left to revere
Nor lay the altars
The sweeping hand of time
Cast clouds upon the old ways
Now we stand and stare
Yet do not comprehend
The minds of those
Long fallen away
From the sight of all.

An Echo Lingers StillI feel my breath grow swift
When confronted with such beauty
Rich chocolate hue of long dead eyes
Stare from canvas thick with age
The film of grime from passing years
Cannot mar your perfection
The blushed pink of your pout
Makes my heart pound faster still
I imagine he must have adored you
In your youthful prime
To capture and make immortal
That which time has taken
From the face of this world
I fancy to myself
I saw you pass me
As I forced myself
To leave the room
Sultry whispers in the air
The scent of fruit
In ripest prime
Yet not as sweet to taste as you
I feel giddy at the thought
To touch your skin

It was stunning, it only last about 10 minutes - I stood in the middle of the (admittedly residential but still fairly busy) road to take this shot... The neighbours must think I am barking mad...!
