To seek an end to time itself
That such a moment as this
Could be forever frozen
The leaf fall stilled
In midair freefall
Early frosts bade to spare
The bounty heavy laden
Fixed upon the apple trees
As seasons turn and turn again

Yet there is to be no cessation
Of the trickling stream of sand
Flowing forward endlessly
Taking all that I have ever known
Reshaping and unstitching
Every dream I ever had
Each fragment passing beyond my reach
A realisation that this too shall pass
But nothing could inspire me more

For until the earth stops
Whirling around our flaming sun
In an ever expanding universe
My passion and fervour for truth
Keeps my focus on the day
And when a veil is drawn
Upon the stage of life
With a firm willed smiling end
This film will fade to close.

to keep in theme with your ending line: showstopping.
Bravo!!

I'd love to hear you read this stuff aloud. I bet it's as magic to the ear as it already is to the soul.

Tsk, that's perfect.
Y'know, I grew up on Dr. Who, Monty Python, Alo Alo, Mr. Bean... and the like. I now officially wish I was a dashing Patrick McGoohan trying to escape a place called the Village while not giving up any information regarding my resignation. :paranoid:

Yes. I'm sure I'm trying to say I have a thing for the accent.
And now I've said too much.

lmfao....!!!!

It's funny, really... to come across a comment like this---especially after having forgotten what I'd said previously. :lmao:

...and of course this ruins any chance of me responding back further in narrative.
Grawr! This round goes to you.

I think I understand it... I've read it several times and it certainly creates a vivid mental picture... and I shall read it more to be sure...

What was your mindset when you wrote it? (Your focus on the day)

I can plainly see your figure (the figure of a woman) and it seems to be in water and fizziling (bubbling away) as everything you have seen and dreampt moves on... and yet she does not grow small... I like that image very much.

Hugs,

Vixyy

I have been reading an awful lot lately on the subject of humanity and where we all are, where we come from and where we are going - the big stuff, y'know? I think I have found out a few truths in my own mind and I find myself in a hopeful rather than negative place because of that. Your mental image is not too far off how I feel :-)

Very very good... that means the poem worked (the mental image thing). As to the rest... for myself, I am at peace with God (or what ever you wish to call him). Vixyy helped a lot with that one. I tell people all the time - especially those who have found religion through a church group - never stop asking questions, and never ever simply take someone's word for it.

more later,

V.

I think the most important thing we can do is to ask questions, blind acceptance is no way forward for humanity and I think the times we live in now it is more necessary than ever to have an inquiring mind :-)

Too very true. One of the artists I was watching had a 'born again' awakening. I had some words of advice for her, and I am saddened that she now is no longer drawing her wonderful dragons (except in the biblical sense - except she has not posted at all). I wrote a whole deal about words and their meaning, and how hard it was to get a literal translation from the original writings. (smiles) I had this thought as an example since we had two puppies... what would they take the meaning of 'house broken' in the future when looking at us.

Hugs,

V.
